Meet the Team
The J.G team is 6 strong.
My teachers are great! We are all passionate about the job we do and proud of the progress we see in our children every term.
All teachers are FULLY qualified to at least the A.S.A. Level 2 standard. All are up to date DBS checked and have a valid and up to date Lifesaver Qualification. Communication is vital between us to maintain the high standard we offer. We have regular meetings to consider the childrens' needs and progress, should they need extra help etc. I am always available to answer any queries for parents.
Jane Gandey: I have been teaching for thirty three years now and running my own swim school for 30 years. I am passionate about water safety and teaching children to swim. I believe we do a fantastic job. Over the years I have changed many aspects of our teaching.
All of us teach to the same criteria and so, although we all have different techniques, our levels are consistent.
I am very proud of the level of swimmers we produce.
I take the Sunday classes.
Julie Rothwell has been with me for 20+ years and her 2 sons both went through the swim school and swam at County level. She herself used to compete. Julie is both patient and yet firm and extremely popular with the parents and children in her classes.
Julie teaches on a Thursday.
Rowan Kay is extremely popular. She has come back to teaching after having two lovely boys, both swam with us!!
She teaches on a Wednesday afternoon and is popular with the children in her quiet, yet firm way.
In the Autumn/spring terms she introduces them to basic lifesaving and personal survival skills. In the summer term they love the extra time they get in each lesson for snorkelling, just in time for holidays!!
Sue Foster has now been with us for two years. She has been teaching for 15+ years and actually taught Zoe's children to swim! She often takes the Crash Courses in the summer holiday and is always a great success with the children. She is kind, but firm and the children's progress each term is clear to see. She takes the Tuesday classes.
Holly Clemitshaw is our new teacher. She joined us in January.
Holly is a passionate swimming teacher with nine years of experience. Hailing from Yorkshire, she was immersed in the world of competitive swimming alongside her siblings before transitioning into teaching. Her mother has taught swimming for over 30 years, so no wonder Holly inherited a love for water. She is patient, and encouraging ensuring that each student, whether a beginner or seasoned swimmer, receives tailored guidance to unlock their full potential. She teaches on a Saturday.
