The J.G team is 7 strong.
My teachers are great! We are all passionate about the job we do and proud of the progress we see in our children every term.
All teachers are FULLY qualified to at least the A.S.A. Level 2 standard. All are up to date DBS checked and have a valid and up to date Lifesaver Qualification. Communication is vital between us to maintain the high standard we offer. We have termly meetings and always consider the childrens' needs, should they need extra help etc. I am always available to answer any queries for parents.
Jane Gandey: I have been teaching for thirty years now and running my own swim school for 28 years. I am passionate about water safety and teaching children to swim. I believe we do a fantastic job. Over the years I have changed many aspects of our teaching. All of us teach to the same criteria and so, although we all have different techniques, our levels are consistent.
I am very proud of the level of swimmers we produce.
Zoe Haddon works on a Monday with our stronger swimmers, enhancing their strokes and introducing them to starts and turns.
In the Autumn term she introduces them to basic lifesaving and personal survival skills. In the summer term they love the extra time they get in each lesson for snorkelling, just in time for holidays!!
Sue Foster has now joined the team. She has been teaching for 15+ years and actually taught Zoe's children to swim! She is a lovely lady. She took a Crash Courses in the summer holiday and was a great success with the children. She is kind, quiet but firm and the children's progress was clear to see.
Sam Hinton (my daughter) has been teaching for over fifteen years now. She has two children who both swam with us. She was a Competition swimmer. She runs a Swim School in a full size 25m pool at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School in Merstham. When our swimmers need to move on they go to Sam. She runs her own lifesaving and survival courses: Aquasafe Surrey. She is popular with all the children.
Julie Rothwell has been with me for 19 years and her 2 young sons both went through the swim school and now swim at County level. She herself used to compete. Julie teaches at Chinthurst. She is both patient and yet firm and extremely popular with the parents and children in her classes.
Julie has decided to hang up her costume, she will be greatly missed by both the children and us teachers. She will be stepping in to help out when needed though!!!
