The J.G team is 6 strong.
My teachers are great! We are all passionate about the job we do and proud of the progress we see in our children every term.
All teachers are FULLY qualified to at least the A.S.A. Level 2 standard. All are up to date DBS checked and have a valid and up to date Lifesaver Qualification. Communication is vital between us to maintain the high standard we offer. We have regular meetings to consider the childrens' needs and progress, should they need extra help etc. I am always available to answer any queries for parents.
Jane Gandey: I have been teaching for thirty five years now and running my own swim school for 33 years. I am passionate about water safety and teaching children to swim. I believe we do a fantastic job. Over the years I have changed many aspects of our teaching.
All of us teach to the same criteria and so, although we all have different techniques, our levels are consistent.
I am very proud of the level of swimmers we produce.
I take the Sunday classes.
Alison Southwell joined us in September 2024.
Alison has been teaching swimming for 30+ years!! She takes the classes on a Thursday and is calm and very patient with the children!! She is an ex swimmer herself and brings out the best in her classes making sure the children understand exactly what she's asking of them. Her classes are very popular.
Sue Foster has now been with us for two years. She has been teaching for 15+ years.Sue takes the Monday evening classes and Saturday mornings. She often takes the Crash Courses in the summer holiday and is always a great success with the children. She is kind, but firm and the children's progress each term is clear to see.
Emma Sticka has now joined our team. She has been teaching and coaching swimming for 16yrs and can't decide which of the two she prefers! She is a strong believer that swimming is a life skill which the children will always use throughout life!! She is firm but fun and teaches on a Wednesday. She fits in perfectly!
